SONO TRACCE

Sono tracce e segni di paesaggi conosciuti quelli che riscopro dentro i teli velati delle immagini di Giovanni Luisoni.

Durante gli anni della nostra scapestrata giovinezza frequentavamo le stesse contrade del Mendrisiotto e conoscevamo gli stessi profili delle montagne all’orizzonte.

Ora sorprende vedere come, dopo il trascorrere di una vita, rimangano accesi sentimenti ed emozioni talvolta vissuti distrattamente, apparentemente insignificanti, dimenticati e lontani nel tempo.

Lo sguardo del fotografo indaga condizioni ai margini della medesima campagna e ritrae capanni e serre, strutture provvisorie sparse fra i campi che nella precarietà del loro essere esili profili di ferro e teli di plastica, sono lo specchio dell’incertezza del nostro tempo. Le immagini offrono sguardi improvvisi, inattesi, oltre i quali filtrano sfocati segni di una vegetazione appena appiattiti dalla retina dei teli. La fotografia distingue le forme della vegetazione e del paesaggio lontano da quelli delle strutture provvisorie degli spazi a noi vicini, i diaframmi interposti agiscono come filtri del tempo e non come barriere dello spazio; così all’osservatore ritornano figure scomposte e frammentate, memorie lontane cariche di sogni.

I singoli dettagli sono leggibili oltre le trasparenze degli schermi che nulla tolgono alle forme appena accennate delle foglie, dei fiori e dei paesaggi che si ricompongono dentro lo spazio delle superfici opache come drappeggi dipinti fra trame di luce. Questo comporre con registri linguistici distinti (quello del reticolo in primo piano con la struttura delle velature e quello sullo sfondo con il paesaggio dell’intorno) domanda all’osservatore una lettura attenta e minuziosa con una duplice messa a fuoco; proprio come avveniva durante le contemplazioni fantastiche di noi bambini quando, la fronte appoggiata alla finestra, esploravamo oltre la superficie appannata dei vetri panorami e mondi misteriosi che suggerivano itinerari temerari da consumare nello spazio di qualche istante in attesa del confronto con il tempo della vita.

TRACES

What I rediscover within the veiled sheets of Giovanni Luisoni’s pictures are traces and signs of well-known landscapes.

During the years of our reckless youth we used to meet up in the same streets in the Mendrisiotto; we were acquainted with the same outlines of the mountains on the horizon.

Now, after a lifetime has passed,  it is surprising to see how feelings and emotions remain alive; these were sometimes experienced in a distracted way and were apparently insignificant, forgotten and far back in time.

The photographer’s eye investigates conditions at the edges of the same countryside and portrays sheds and greenhouses, temporary structures scattered among the fields which, in the precariousness of their slender outlines of iron and plastic covers, are the mirror of the uncertainty of our time. The pictures offer sudden, unexpected glances, beyond which filter unfocused signs of vegetation barely flattened by the retina of the covers. The photograph makes a distinction between the shapes of the vegetation and the distant landscape and those of the temporary structures of the spaces close to us, the inserted diaphragms act as time filters, not as barriers of space; thus broken up, fragmented figures and distant memories laden with dreams return to the observer.

The single details can be read beyond the transparency of the screens, which take nothing away from the barely outlined shapes of the leaves, flowers, and landscapes, which are reconstructed within the space of the opaque surfaces like drapes painted among webs of light. This creating with distinct language registers (of the lattice work in the foreground with the structure of the coverings and of the background with the surrounding landscape) requires the observer to read carefully and meticulously with a dual focus; just as when we were children, with our foreheads leaning against the window, in our fantastic contemplations we used to explore mysterious worlds and panoramas beyond the misted surface; these worlds suggested hasty itineraries to be consumed in an instant while waiting for the comparison with the time of life.

BIOGRAFIA

Nato a Stabio (Svizzera) nel 1944 e fotografo dal 1972 prima a Lugano, poi indipendente  a Mendrisio e  Morbio.

Ha collaborato con diversi quotidiani Ticinesi e d’oltralpe, concentrandosi in seguito con lavori per architetti, artisti e pittori Ticinesi.

In parallelo alla sua attività, si dedica da diversi anni a una sua ricerca personale nel territorio in cui vive e da dove ha tratto la principale fonte di ispirazione.

Sue fotografie sono presenti in diverse pubblicazioni e presso collezioni pubbliche e private.
