	Biografia
	Christian Erroi nasce ad Aarau, Svizzera, il 18 marzo 1973 e risiede a Bari con la famiglia fino ad un anno per poi trasferirsi a Milano. Da bimbo è affascinato dalla natura ed un appassionato lettore di Gerald Durrell, naturalista, che descrive in modo brillante le sue spedizioni in tutto il mondo e che lo stimola a voler intraprendere gli studi di biologia. Dalla campagna di Lecco, dove nel frattempo la famiglia si è trasferita, Erroi arriva per la prima volta, nel 1984, a New York dove frequenta la prima media. Il suo insegnante di scienze, Mr. Muser, incoraggia il suo interesse per gli animali ed il loro habitat e gli suggerisce di usare la fotografia per documentare e classificare le sue osservazioni. All’età di quattordici anni si trasferisce a Lugano, Svizzera, dove frequenta il liceo e dove si rivela il suo interesse per l’arte e la storia. Dopo poco tempo dal suo arrivo a Lugano inizia a soffrire di forti emicranie accompagnate da problemi di vista e repentina perdita di coscienza. Poiché questi attacchi vanno aumentando di frequenza ed intensità, vengono consultati i migliori neurologi europei ed americani, cercando allo stesso tempo delle cure alternative. Ogni ricerca intesa a scoprire cosa causasse questi problemi risulta però vana. Per circa un decennio continua ad essere colpito da svariati ictus, molti dei quali danneggiano la sua memoria, riducendo progressivamente il campo visivo ed alcune volte paralizzando il lato destro del corpo. "Dovetti imparare a leggere e scrivere più volte". A vent'anni frequenta una scuola per persone disabili, dove impara a costruire ed ad utilizzare PC, per poi arrivare allo scopo ultimo di insegnare ad altri. Durante quel difficile decennio, il suo più grande terrore è costituito dall' incapacità di comunicare a parole, dato che queste hanno ormai perso per lui qualsiasi significato. Mancando la capacità di esprimersi verbalmente viene però salvato dalle immagini e la sua attenzione si sposta allora, spinta da un’intima urgenza, verso la fotografia, dove biologia e naturalismo continuano ad incuriosirlo ed affascinarlo.
